Armin F. Ewald, age 84, of Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, January 6, 2001, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m on Tuesday, January 9, 2001, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. The Rev. Victor Headrick and Rev. Herbert Kruschel will officiate, entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

Armin was born January 16, 1916, in the township of Manitowoc Rapids, Manitowoc County, son of the late Adolph and Elizabeth Schramm Ewald. He grew up and was educated in the township of Manitowoc Rapids. Armin was married to Lorraine M. Matthias, June 13, 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church, township of Liberty. Armin was a dairy farmer in the township of Manitowoc Rapids all of his life retiring in 1976, and in semi retirement he worked for the Lakeshore Technical College, as a Agricultural Technical instructor until 1981. He was a life long member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg, a member of the church choir for many years, he was a life time member of the Manitowoc Farm Bureau, a former director of the Lakeshore Farm Management Association, and a Charter member of the Lake to Lake Dairy Cooperative. Armin enjoyed reading, gardening, bowling, playing cards and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers-in-law, Lester Schultz, Bob Lorfeld, Arland Matthias and a sister-in-law, Irene Matthias.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church, 7531 English Lake Rd., Manitowoc, from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials would be appreciated for St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church or Holy Family Memorial Hospice Program.

The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
