Wanda Winchester, age 83 of Lewiston, died Sunday November 29, 2009 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, under the care of Niagara Hospice.
Wanda was born March 3, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kazmierski) Trybala. She attended local schools and was a 1944 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Wanda married William C. Winchester on August 16, 1947 and they have lived in Lewiston since 1955. She had been employed as a secretary for the Walter Johnson Building Co. in Niagara Falls for a number of years. Wanda later worked as a Sales Associate at both the Patti Mae and Estee Mar Dress Shops in Lewiston for 18 years.
Wanda loved spending time with her family and friends and took special care of everyone close to her. She especially loved her Friday shopping trips with her sister and taking care of her family's pets.
Wanda is the beloved wife of her husband, William; and mother of her children, Sandra (Gary) Smith of Youngstown, Robert (Caroll) Winchester of Ransomville, and Patricia Winchester of Lewiston. She is also survived by a sister, Jenny Penale and a brother, Matthew Trybala both of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Casmer, Edward, John, and Henry Trybala, and a sister, Mary Rowan.
