Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. He enlisted in the Union Army at New York and served as a Private in Company F, 73d New York Infantry. On May 12, 1864 at the conflict at Spotsylvania, Virginia, he captured the Confederate flag of the 15th Louisiana Infantry C.S.A.  (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
