Death called James R. Kirkland of Leeson avenue Monday afternoon. He had been ill for a period of two years, and his death yesterday resulting from paralysis. James Kirkland was born in 1842 in Crawford county. In December 14, 1862 he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Hancock. They made their home in Crawford county where they resided until 1882. Since that time they have been residents of Van Wert county. Mrs. and Mrs. Kirkland were the parents of nine children, two of whom have preceded their father in death, Winfred, dying some years ago, and Mrs. Laura Fraylick, dying last February. Mrs. Kirkland and seven children survive. They are: Mrs. Zella Owens, Mrs. Lulu Hawkins of Harrison township, Mrs. Andy Buckles of Toledo, Reuben Kirkland of Toledo, James Kirkland of Los Angeles, Cal., Patrick Kirkland of Lorrain and Ed. Kirkland of this city. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30. Burial will be made at Woodland.
