DEACONSON, Dorithy Sullivan "Doris" died peacefully Oct. 28, 2011. Doris' strong faith affected countless lives throughout her 88 years. That faith and the love of her family were the cornerstones of her life. Doris was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1922 to Joseph and Sarah Sullivan. She graduated from Morristown High School in NJ in 1938. She attended Purdue University in the Mechanical Engineering Program. Before her marriage she worked for RCA and danced with the Pennsylvania Ballet Company. After her children were grown, she began a career in retail fashion. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jim. Doris is survived by her sisters, Frances Derengowski of Phoenix, AZ and Elizabeth McGinley of Cherry Hill, NJ; her children, Fr. James Deaconson, Jr., Daniel and Brenda Deaconson, Timothy and Sheryl Deaconson, David and Karen Deaconson, and Betzy Willis and her husband, Jack. She cherished her grandchildren, Nick, Alex, Connor, Luke, Sarah, Emma, Abigail, Daniel, Jake, Mollie, Christian, Chandler and Elizabeth. A funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Doris' life at 2 pm on Thursday (today), Nov. 3, 2011 at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Marilyn St., Clearwater. Doris will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery next to her husband at a later date. Donations may be made to Light of Christ Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice. National Cremation.
