BOYD Mary J.--On Wednesday the 17th instant, Mrs. Mary J. Boyd, wife of the late Samuel M. Boyd, died at her residence in Toby township near Rimersburg, of grip and general debility. The deceased was in her 72d year, having been born on the farm adjoining the one on which she died, July 20, 1822. At the age of 17 years she married Samuel M. Boyd and resided in the above township all of her long and useful life. She joined the Presbyterian Church in Rimersburg in 1842 and was a constant, faithful and consistant member during the most of her life.

She was the mother of nine children, seven of which survive her, these are Mrs. John Renard, of Braddock, Pa.; Wm. H., of Rimersburg; Mrs. Dr. John Creswell of New Bethlehem; P.W. Boyd, of Rimersburg; Mrs. H.K. Murray, of New Castle; Mrs. S. E. Stewart, of Rimersburg and L.C. Boyd, of Rimersburg.
The deceased were J.A.C. Boyd of Uniontown and Leslie Boyd, of Rimersburg.
For some years past she resided on the homestead farm with her son, Wm. H. Boyd. She had been a useful and busy woman all the days of her life, faithful to her husband, loving and devoted to her children; a dearly beloved neighbor in health and a sympathetic friend in adversity.
The funeral took place on last Friday afternoon, the 19, from her late residence, at 2 o'clock, the interment being in Bethesda cemetery and Rev. A.A. Kelly conducting the services.
A large concourse of friends paid their last tribute of love and respect by accompanying her body to its last resting place.
