Born Oct. 29, 1918, in Marion, he was the son of the late George W. and Carrie (Hamilton) Moore.
On Oct. 26, 1946, he married Margaret M. (Belt) Moore; she survives in Marion.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a welder at Fairfield Engineering. He was involved in Civil Defense and later Marion Police Auxiliary. He worked as a security guard after retirement and was also a self-employed painter.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Thomas G. Moore, Marion; a daughter, Cheryl M. Walpole, Marion; brother, Gerald (Joan) Moore, California; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Moore; two grandchildren, Colin M. Moore and Nathaniel A Walpole; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Glenn W. Moore, and two sisters, Alice Myers and Claribelle Stratton.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at First Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Riley Powell and Mark Ails officiating. Burial, with a veterans graveside service conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council, is in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call 3-6 p.m. today at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.
