Milton Michael was born in Vetka, Russia and left in 1906 at age three with his parents, Lazarus (Louis) and Rachel for the U.S. They settled in NYC and had a daughter, Beatrice in 1909.

Milton graduated from public school with fairly high honors but in his second year at Stuyvesant High School he was expelled for truancy. Reading Jack London stirred his interest in going to sea and in writing. Stretching his true age, he signed on as mess boy and set sail a few times to the west coast of South America.

He wrote "Spindrift", a collection of sea poems inspired by his experiences, which was published when he was 19. Some of the poems were published in The Century Magazine with illustrations by John Sloan. He married Ruth W. only to divorce a short while later.

He went to California in the 1930's, writing screenplays and novels. He married three more times: to Dorothy Krampff in 1943; Geraldine Audinet in 1950; and Johanna Rabus in 1956. He had one son, Jonathan Michael (1950-1993), a stepson, Patrick Audinet (b.1942-), and two daughters, Susan Jo (b.1942-)with a secretary, and Mary Jo (1943?) - with Dorothy Krampff.

Early in the 1940's he joined the Marines and wrote scripts for the short Marine Corps radio show to boost morale.

He is remembered for his many T.V. screenplays-- The Texan, Frontier Doctor, Walt Disney Wonderful World of Color, Roy Rogers, The Millionaire, Stories of the Century, Adventures of Kit Carson. For single episodes of: The Lone Ranger, Dick Tracy, The Gene Autry Show, Colt .45.
Plus over 20 film scripts and several mystery novels - The Tony Woolrich Series.

He died in Los Angeles and his ashes are buried with his last wife, Johanna, at her request.
