Actress. She was an actress of stage, film and television spanning the years 1925 to 1955. Her career started at the age of 16. After having a ten-year run on Broadway including a part in "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court", she performed in 108 films including: "Meet Nero Wolfe," "Pennies From Heaven," "Out West With the Hardys," "Calling Dr. Gillespie," "The Song of Bernadette," "Ladies of the Chorus," "The Du Pont Story" and "The Outcast." She also played the roles of 'Mrs. Nestor' on the television series "Our Miss Brooks' and a supporting role "Make Room for Daddy". She usually played the role of society matrons, gossipy spinsters and kindly mothers. Her scrapbooks and collection of papers from her career can be seen at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
