Mrs. JOAN E. MASON, 64, of Eisenhower Drive, Orwigsburg. passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, Salisbury Township, Lehigh County.
Mrs. MASON was born in Reading on June 29, 1947, the daughter of the late RICHARD L. SR. and MARY JANE (MILLER) FRITZ, who survives her, of Orwigsburg.
She was the widow of WILBUR DAVIS MASON.
She worked as a Teacher at Philadelphia General and Roxbrough hospitals, and was a Medical Editor for Springhouse Publishing, Philadelphia.
She graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 1965, and was a 1968 graduate of Temple University and earned her Master's degree, and she also attended the University of Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Congregational Free Church of Christ, Orwigsburg, and a member of Orwigsburg OWLS.
Surviving in addition to her Mother are: Sister LINDA, widow of ATT. BRUCE L. WALTMAN, of Orwigsburg; brother RICK L. JR., husband of NANCY FRITZ, of Blandon; niece CRYSTAL L., wife of TIMOTHY L. SNYDER, of Orwigsburg; nephew KEVIN R., husband of JACQUELINE FRITZ; nephew ERIC L. WALTMAN; great niece ALEESHA M. FRITZ; great niece NATALIE P. SNYDER; and great nephew LOGAN R. FRITZ.
Religious services will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., Orwigsburg, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, with Rev. Jeffrey C. Stonesifer officiating.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. Interment Services will be held at Germania Cemetery, Egg Harbor City, N.J.
