Married Herbert Lee Evans, 23 born in Illinois, son of E. B. & Emma (Lee) Evans on 17 June 1888 in Grand Island as recorded in Hall County marriage book 3, p. 418.

Grand Island Daily Independent Monday 13 September 1897
The sad news of the death of Josephine B. Evans of Omaha was received by the family of D. Morgan last evening. Mrs. Evans is a daughter of Mr. Morgan, and the announcement will be a sorrow-bringing one to the many friends of the deceased in this city, her childhood home. She was 32 years of age, and leaves to mourn her loss, besides her father, brothers and sisters in this city, a husband and four children. Mr. Evans is a brother of Mrs. A. M. Hargis. The remains will arrive in this city this evening. The funeral will take place from the residence on East First street at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. Friends of the family invited to attend.

Funeral Of Mrs. Evans
The funeral of Mrs. Josephine Beatrice Evans, daughter of D. Morgan, was held from the latter's residence on east First this morning, and was largely attended by the relatives and friends of the deceased. Rev. T. C. Clark officiated and was assisted by the choir of the Presbyterian church.

At the cemetery the services were under the auspices of the Order of the Eastern Star.

At Omaha, before the remains were sent to this city, there were brief services at the late home of the deceased, Rev. McQuaid of the First M. E. church officiating and a large number of friends attending.

The death of Mrs. Evans is a particularly sad one, and the grief stricken husband and the children of the deceased have the heartfelt sympathy of a host of friends, not only in Omaha, but also in this city, where Mrs. Evans grew to womanhood and where Mr. Evans is also well known, he being the founder of the Business College, and having been a resident of Grand Island for several years. Mr. and Mrs. Evans' home life had been most happy throughout, their marriage being from all appearances a perfect union. The deceased was a lady of high character, kind and loving to all and doing much good in circles other than her immediate home.
