Sara Kay Downham 65, Elwood, died Saturday, March 19, 2005. She was born January 29, 1940 to Robert P. and Mary K. (Davis) Chance. She married John R. Downham on June 18, 1960, he passed away October 10, 2003. Mrs. Downham worked for Star Financial Bank and most recently at the Elwood Public Library. Arrangements are being handled by Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street, Elwood, IN, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2005. Funeral service will be at St. John's Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 with Rev. Paulette Stahlke officiating, and calling will be there from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Elwood City Cemetery, Elwood, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the IU Cancer Center or St. Johns Lutheran Church. She is survived by son James Todd Downham, Greencastle; daughter Lori L. and Mark McGuckin of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Angela and Phil Morgan of Tipton, IN; grandchildren Blake and Sarah McGuckin; grandchild Chris Morgan; sister Carol and Bill Klosterman of Tampa, FL; brother David Chance of Anderson, IN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
