Susan B. Ratliff Standley Williams

Her first husband was Simeon H. Standley, born July 25, 1845 in Pennsylvania, the son of David and Rebecca Warner Standley. They were married on April 6, 1874.

She married her second husband, John Williams, on April 12, 1905.

---Funeral services for Susan B. Williams, 93 were held yesterday at the Baptist Church in Elmer, conducted by the Elder S.L. Pettus. Burial was in the Elmer cemetery.
---Susan B. Ratliff, daughter of Jordan and Nancy Ratliff, was born Feb. 11, 1855 and died Friday at the age of 93 years, nine months and 29 days, at the home of her youngest son.
---She was united in marriage to Simeon H. Standley April 6, 1874. To this union seven children were born, three of whom preceded her in death.
---On April 12, 1905 she was united in marriage to John Williams.
---She is survived by four children, 19 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, five step children and many friends.
---Mrs. Williams was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for many years.

---Mrs. Susan Ratliff Williams passed away Dec. 10 at the home of her son near Goldsberry. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Baptist Church with the Rev. S.L. Pettus of Macon officiating. the deceased was 93 years, 9 months and 23 days of age. She was a resident of Elmer until her husband's death several years ago, when she moved to Goldsberry and vicinity, where she lived with her children, She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church many years.
---Four children survive, also several grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Burial was in the Elmer cemetery.

---The pallbeareres were James Lewis, Charles E. Cunningham, Jr., Harry Standley, Cloyee Johnson, Gelbert Standley and Junior Liebhart. The flower bearers were Neva Joyce Standley, Marilynn Joyce Lewis, Veneta Dorotha and Alta Newkirk.
---Mrs. Williams, whose maiden name was Susan B. Ratliff, daughter of Jorden and Nancy Ratliff, was born February 11, 1855, and died December 10, she and Simeon H. Standley were married April 6, 1874. Seven children were born, four of whom survive. She had been a member many years of the Primitive Baptist church.
---She leaves, Thomas Standley, Winigan; Maudie Bradley, Goldsberry; ...... Standley, Ethel; nineteen grandchildren; five step-children, other relatives and a host of friends.

NOTE: Simeon Hiram Standley #92702606 (1861-1945) would have been thirteen years of age in 1874 so he would have been to young to be Susan's first husband. Please do not link this Simeon Hiram Standley to this memorial unless you can provide definite proof of their marriage. It appears that the Simeon H. Standley, who was Susan's first husband, would have died sometime between the birth of their last child in 1890 and Susan's second marriage in 1905 unless they were divorced.
