Actor: His long and successful acting career began during the Silent movie era in the 1915 film, “The Mummy and the Humming Bird”. The roles of a butler, doorman, concierge, valet, or waiter were about half of his performances. In the 1934 movie, “In the Gay Divorcee”, he had a role in the first feature-length film in Technicolor. He appeared in 223 films including: "The Girl From Missouri" in 1934, "One Hundred Men and A Girl" in 1937, "Raffles" in 1940, "Mexican Spitfire" in 1940, "Girl Crazy" in 1943, "Jane Eyre" in 1944,"Diamond Horseshoe" in 1945, and "Ma and Pa Kettle Go To Town" in 1950. The last film that he made was the November 1950 with Gene Autry, “The Blazing Sun”. Strangely, another movie, which was made earlier in 1948 but shelved, was released after that his death; “Double Dynamite” was released in York City on Christmas Day 1951. (bio by: Linda Davis)
