(1895 - 1961)

Paul J. Brockhoff, Sr., 65, of Francis Creek, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday after a heart attack in the home of his brother, Eugene, of Rt. 1 Whitelaw.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Rev. John Haen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brockhoff was born Dec. 29, 1895, in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, son of the late Joseph and Ida Hessel Brockhoff. He married Anna Weina June 6, 1916, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. They operated the homestead farm in the Town of Kossuth for 12-1/2 years and then moved to another farm in the township, which they operated until seven years ago when they moved to Francis Creek.

He was a manager of the Farmers Oil Co. of Branch for 13 years and was treasurer of the Town of Kossuth for a number of years. He was a former trustee of St. Ann Church at Francis Creek and was a janitor at St. Ann school for three years until his retirement at the end of 1960.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Ann Church and also a member of the Catholic Knights Insurance Society of Wisconsin. Two daughters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Joseph of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, Robert of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, Sgt. 1/c Paul Jr., serving with the U.S. Army, and Melvin of Rt 3, Manitowoc; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Novak of Rt. 1, Maribel, Sister M. Veronica of Zanesville, Ohio, Mrs. Raymond Ziarnik of Manitowoc, Mrs. Joseph Samz of Mishicot and Mrs. William Samz of Rt. 1. Mishicot; a brother, Eugene, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; 26 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday where the Rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. by the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights, led by Father Haen.
