World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Midshipman in the British Royal Navy. On April 25, 1915, at V Beach, Cape Helles, Gallipoli, Turkey, Midshipman Malleson with three others from the HMS River Clyde went ashore to assist a landing light party. When the work of securing landing lights by other seaman had failed, Midshipman Malleson swam in with the lights under heavy enemy and succeeded. For bravery in action, he was awarded the Victoria Cross Medal and later achieved the rank of Captain.
