Mrs. Florence English Noll, wife of the Rev. Dr. Arthur Howard Noll, the daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Dunn English, composer of "Sweet Alice Ben Bolt", died suddenly at Gartly-Ramsay Hospital on Sunday afternoon, May 16. Her death was very unexpected. She had been operated on a week ago, but appeared to be well on the road to recovery.
She was a native of West Virginia and was 69 when she died. She was the last member of the family of Dr. English, a distinguished physician and at one time was a member of Congress from New Jersey.
Mrs. Noll was generally popular through the diocese, Dr. Noll served for several years as registrar of the University of the South, and at present is rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd and secretary for the diocese.
