Pvt Antonio Gonzalez Chavez

Antonio Enlisted in the Marines 4 January 1966 at a recruiting office in Chicago, Illinois.
Upon arriving in Vietnam, he was assigned to the 1st Platoon of Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
Antonio died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head from an enemy sniper during a combat patrol about 7 kilometers east of Hiep Duc Village, during Operation Union.
Pvt Chavez served his country for one year and six months.
Survived by his wife, Judith McCauley Chavez and his parents, Antonio and Carmen Chavez, five sisters; Gloria, Cecilia, Juanita, Raquel and Rita and six brothers; Arthur, Victor, Jose, Rudy, Jesse and Alonzo, of 10647 S Hoxie Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
