US Congressman. He served as a Representative from North Carolina from 1841 to 1843. Following his Congressional service, he was a member of the State House of Commons (1843 & 1846), and the State senate (1848, 1850, & 1852). Graduated from Yale in 1834. Member of Skull and Bones. Admitted to the Bar in 1835.
