Major League Baseball Player. He was signed by Boston as a 3rd round draft pick in 1996 out of high school in his hometown of LaGrange, Georgia. He was claimed off waivers by the Reds during spring training of 2003. Considered one of the Reds' most promising young players, Stenson hit .306 with 14 homers and 76 RBIs in 101 games at Double-A Chattanooga and batted .237 with five homers and 14 RBIs in 17 games at Triple-A Louisville. Stenson was called up by the Reds on August 13th, 2003. Three days later, he doubled twice and singled against Houston in his first big league start. On the next-to-last day of the season, Stenson made three outstanding catches in left field to preserve a win over Montreal. On the final day, he homered in a 2-1 loss to the Expos. Stenson's body was found dead in the early morning hours of November 5th, 2003, on a residential street in Chandler, Arizona, He been shot and was apparently run over by his own SUV. He had been playing with the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League.
