US Congressman. Lennon was a North Carolina State court judge from 1934 to 1942. From 1947 to 1951, he was a member of the state senate. He was appointed as a U.S. Senator from North Carolina from 1953 to 54 to fill a vacancy. He was elected as a U.S. Representative from North Carolina and served for fifteen years (1957-1973).
