Julia Keohane's birthdate and place are problematic. The June 1880 U.S. census shows her as 1-year old living with her parents in Hortonia (near Hortonville), Wisconsin, suggesting she was born there during 1879. The June 1900 U.S. census lists her as 20-years old, again suggesting an 1879 birth (although her age was lightly crossed out and over-written as 19). The 1900 census shows a birth month of September 1880. Her tombstone is marked 1880-1948. In 1900 Julia Keohane lived in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin with her uncle & aunt, Isaac & Margaret Lucia. Her mother Alice Frances Duffey-Keohane had died in 1893. She married Thomas Patrick Kelly on 22 August 1905 in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. They lived in Antigo, Wisconsin, where Thomas was an engineer for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. Sometime after her husband died, she moved to Chicago to be with her daughter Mary Margaret Kelly-McGrath. Julia died in Alexian Brothers Hospital, Chicago.
