Mrs. Louise (Wissinger) Leffler, wife of Eli Leffler, a retired contractor, died at 10:30 o'clock last night at the home of her son-inlaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Blough, of near Thomas' Mills, Somerset County, aged 70 years. Mrs. Leffler's death was due to paralysis. She was stricken since last fall. Mr. Leffler's health has been impaired for some time. Funeral services for Mrs. Leffler will be held at the Blough home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon by the Rev. Galen K. Walker, of the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, with interment in Grandview Cemetery. Mrs. Leffler, who was born in this county December 26, 1856, was a daughter of Eli Wissinger and Mary (Stork) Wissinger. Mrs. Leffler was a granddaughter of the late Lewis Wissinger, a centenarian, whose death occurred here about 28 years ago. Mrs. Leffler's father passed away in 1917, and her mother in 1910. Mr. and Mrs. Leffler were married on Christmas, 1877, by the late Bishop Solomon Benshoff, of the Church of the Brethren. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Leffler: Albert, died in infancy; Lewis, resides at Riverside; a daughter died in infancy; Ruth, expired at the age of 10 years, and Goldie, wife of E. C. Blough. Mr. Leffler survives her with a sister, Miss Elizabeth Wissinger, of Sunday street, Walnut Grove, and two grandchildren. For many years the Leffler family made their home in the seventeenth ward. (Johnstown Tribune, 2 Feb 1927)
