Married Allen Delbert Nelson, son of John Nelson and Emile Nelson. He was born 1878 in Kansas and died about 1935 it is said in California. He is found in the 1930 census in Los Angeles County, married to a Carrie Nelson.

Nellie Capitola Lewis Nelson was deaf. She was three when her mother died. Her father and brother moved to Washington State, leaving her with her aunt.
After Nellie died, her husband A. D. Nelson kicked their sons, ages 11, 13 and 15 out of the house. Her headstone was placed many years later by her sons. The date of death is wrong.
