Russian Royalty. Princess belonging to the Rurik dynasty, she was one of the last children of Vladimir I of Kiev and commonly called Maria. In 1040, she married the Grand Duke Casimir and had a decisive role in the ascent to the throne of Poland thanks to the political-military support of her brother Yaroslav I. With her progeny she gave birth to the prestigious Piast dynasty.
