LEOPOLD GRIFFIN STEVENSON
Leopold Griffin Stevenson, 70, of 1010 South Seventh West street, died Friday night in a local hospital of pneumonia and a heart ailment.
Mr. Stevenson was born May 12, 1868, in Sheffield, England, and was brought to Salt Lake City in 1870. His early life was devoted to mining, but he later became a carpenter for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad company. He retired about seven years ago.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amy Jane Smith Stevenson; three sons, Harry B. Stevenson, Justin E. Stevenson and Leo S. Stevenson; five daughters, Mrs. Harry A. Tepper, Miss Amy Stevenson, Mrs. Harry A. Brewer, Miss Phyllis Stevenson and Miss Faith Stevenson, all of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Merwin of Bell, Calif., and Mrs. Maria Schramm of Coronado, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at 2128 South State street.
