Voivode of Wallachia. Better known as Vlad V cel Tanar, related to Vlad III the Impaler, he succeeded the heirs of the Draculesti dynasty after they were ousted from power. However his reign was short-lived (1510-1512) as he was in turn ousted by the powerful Craiovesti family thanks to the external support of the Turks. His attempt to oppose this interference was unsuccessful as he suffered a serious defeat near Bucharest. Vlad the Young was imprisoned and executed.
