Rev. Dr. Daniel Parish Kidder was the son of Sylvester "Selvey" and Mehetabel (Parish) Kidder. He was born South Pembroke (now Darien). Cynthia Harriet (Harris) Kidder was his 1st wife. She died April 16, 1840. Harriette (Smith) Kidder was his 2nd wife. They were married April 6, 1842 and she died March 1915. He was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (now Western New York) Conference 1836 F 1840 New Jersey Conference by transfer 1841 Newark Conference at organization and to Rock River Conference by transfer 1858 New Jersey Conference by transfer 1871. He was Professor of Practical Theology at Drew University 1871-1881.
