Wayne C. Asbell, 62, of Haddock, died Sunday, May 20, 2007. Services were held Friday, May 25, in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Asbell was the son of the late Olin Lee Asbell and the late Ethel Bennett Lord Asbell. He was a 1963 graduate of Willingham High School and was a cum laude graduate of Mercer University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was hired in 1963 by the Central Georgia Railroad and rose through the ranks to his most recent position as terminal trainmaster for Norfolk Southern Railway. Mr. Asbell was a member of Haddock Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kell Clark, a brother, lee Asbell, and a sister, Bene Asbell.

Mr. Asbell is survived by his children and their spouses, Ellen and Keith Clark of Forsyth, John M. and Kimberly Asbell of Griffin, and Steven Wayne and Michelle Asbell of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Rachel and Reece Clark, Hannah Asbell, Maggie Asbell, Samuel Asbell, Kate Asbell, Parker Asbell, Emily Asbell, Morgan Asbell and Shelby Asbell; sister, Carla Asbell Dennis of Macon; brother, Marcus Asbell of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.

Hart's Mortuary in Macon had charge of arrangements.
