Indian Campaign Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Private in Company B, 8th US Cavalry for action during August and October 1868 in Arizona. His citation reads "Bravery in scouts and actions against Indians."
