GOODLAND --- Cloyd D. Hawks, Sr., 85, Goodland, died Thursday at Goodland Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 4, 1918, to Vincent O. and Deesa (Linnell) Hawks in Norton County. They preceded him in death.

He married Clara Fern Wilson on August 31, 1941 in St. Francis.

He moved with his family to Sherman County in 1925. He attended rural school in Sherman County.

He farmed until moving to Goodland in 1948. He was a carpenter and retired as construction superintendent for Rhoads Construction Company.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Goodland.

He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. In 1981 he received the;#34;Excellence in Construction;#34; award by Ossman and Associates Architects of Topeka.

Survivors include brother, Henry Hawks, Goodland; three sons, Dale Hawks and wife Bonnie, Goodland; Dallas Hawks and wife Donna, Rydal, Ga.; Vincent Hawks and wife Jani of Powder Springs, Ga; his wife; four sisters, Beulah McClung, Goodland; Lelah Sweitzer and husband Jay, Greeley, Colo.; Ina Mae Gwin and husband Glen, Longmont, Colo.; Zona Price and husband Dale, Goodland; two daughters, Meredith Farr and husband, Ken, Leoti; Karen Amos and husband Danny, Liberal; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Orville Hawks, Lowell Hawks and Lyle Hawks; sister, Violet Roeder Lampe; and daughter, Clara Evelyn Hawks.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Goodland, with Pastor Janet Hernandez officiating.

Internment will follow at Goodland Cemetery under the direction of Koons Funeral Home, Goodland.

Friends may share their respects at Koons Chapel in Goodland today from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m., and at the church before the service.

Memorials may be designated to First United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 North Main, Goodland, KS, 67735-1555.
