Legendary Musician and Composer. Colaborated with Stan Kenton in 1945 where he met and married singer June Christy from 1947 until her death in 1990. Bob performed with Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All-Stars, recording many works as a sideman and as a leader. He also recorded with Bud Shank, Shelly Manne and others. While driving from a recording session and suffering what would be a fatal heart attack, Bob Cooper pulled his automobile over when he realized he was not going to make it, and so nobody else would be hurt on the Hollywood Freeway. He was found peacefully passed away behind the wheel.
