Mr. M. M. Beckett, age 71, died Friday April 26th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julian M. DuRant, in Madison. He was a native of Charleston County, SC, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Ashe Beckett, and before his retirement was engaged in farming at Yonges Island, SC. He was a member of Johns Island Presbyterian Church. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. DuRant of Madison; Mrs. Edgar H. Kleckley, of Charleston, SC; and Mrs. Allen C. Mustard, of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Louis Hay, Sr., of Johns Island, SC; Mrs. George Wilkins, and Mrs. Lydia Simpson, both of Charleston, Mrs. E. M. Bailey, of Edisto Island, SC; and Miss Alice Beckett, of Johns Island; three brothers, Edward Beckett, of Andalusia, AL; Seymour Beckett, of Johns Island, SC; and T. A. Beckett, of Wadmalaw Island, SC. Funeral services were held Saturday at Beggs Funeral Home with interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery.- Madison Enterprise Recorder
