Gordon, 78, of Lansing, MI. passed away Thursday. He was the son of Edward and Laura (May) Nestle.

He married Lullavene "Buddy" and she preceded him in death in 2005. Besides his loving wife, Gordon was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edward "Cork", daughter, Cheryl and nephew, Roger.

Gordon served our country in the Army in Korea and worked at Wohlert Corporation until his retirement after 40 years of service.

He was an all around athlete at Ithaca High School where he graduated. He enjoyed all sports especially golf, bowling and was an avid MSU fan. He also enjoyed writing poetry and was a regular customer at Art's Bar and Leo's Outpost.

Gordon cherished his family. Surviving him are: daughter, Kim Overby of Lansing, step-daughters: Sharon Hartman and Judy (Greg) VanPeenen; 8 grandchildren: Susan Overby, Jamie (Scott) Wiseley, Chad Overby, Jason (Sara) Hartman, Jonathan Hartman, Christine VanPeenen, Jennifer Hogle, Daniel VanPeenen; 6 great grandchildren and best friend, Jim Dorin.

Gordon's family will celebrate his life at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 followed by a graveside service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society in memory of Gordon.
