Old Lyme - Niles Woodbridge Bond, of Old Lyme, died on July 13, 2005, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1916, in West Newton, Mass., the son of George Wood and Clara Mehitabel Bonney Bond.
Mr. Bond served a distinguished career with the U.S. government as a foreign service officer.
He was the widower of Julia Folsom Bond and Pamela Bond.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Mooney and her husband, Cliff, of Atlanta, Ga., and Ellen Sheehan, of Key Largo, Fla.; his sister, Barbara Roberts and her husband, Murray, of Hendersonville, N.C.; and his granddaughters, Carey Sheehan, of Key Largo, Fla., and Colleen Sheehan, of Delray beach, Fla.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours.
The Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Old Lyme is handling arrangements.
