Killed when B-18A Bolo #37-522, overloaded,
crashed into mountains on climb-out phase
on Kodiak Island, Alaska. Seven crew were
killed and one survived.

The other airmen killed were:

1st Lt. Russell Alonson Betts
2nd Lt. Thomas A McDermott
2nd Lt. James F Wilson
SSgt. Glenn R Harris
TSgt. Harold B Steele
