Motion Picture Actress. She earned an Oscar Nomination as Best Actress for her film "Pinky" (1949). She also appeared in "State Fair" (1945), "Leave Her to Heaven" (1945), "Margie" (1946) and "A Letter to Three Wives" (1949).

Born Jeanne Elizabeth Crain, daughter of George A. and Loretta Carr Crain. She was married to actor Paul Brinkman. Together they had seven children.
