"REV. WILLIAM LONERGAN TO BE PLACED IN GRAVE

A solemn pontifical requiem mass will be celebrated this morning at 9:30 o'clock at the Cathedral of St. Vibiana for the late Rev. William Lonergan, who was formerly connected with the cathedral and who recently has been chaplain of St. Joseph's sanitarium, San Diego. Father Lonergan had been ill but ten days and died Saturday afternoon, shortly after the arrival of Bishop Conaty in San Diego. Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's, San Diego, yesterday morning. Rev. J. J. O'Keefe officiating. The body, accompanied by Father McNellis, was brought to Los Angeles on the afternoon train. Vespers for the dead were chanted last night at the cathedral, where the body was laid in state preparatory to the funeral today. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery."
