Mrs. Marguerite Winston Passes Away at Home of Sister.
Funeral Tomorrow
SANTA MONICA, Sept. 29.—Heart failure caused the death today of Mrs. Marguerite Winston at the home of her sister, Mrs. Arcadia de Baker, 1247 Ocean avenue. The funeral will be held at 9:30 o'clock next Saturday morning at the Catholic church and burial will take place at Mt. Calvary cemetery at Los Angeles. Mrs. Winston, who was 73 years of age, was a native of San Diego, but passed the greater part of her life in Santa Monica. For several years she had made her home with her sister, who is considered one of the wealthiest women in California. Mrs. Winston was the widow of I. W. Winston, an early Los Angeles settler, who died about twenty years ago. She was an aunt of Police Judge J. J. Carrillo of Santa Monica. She leaves five daughters and two sons, Including the following: Mrs. Virginia Castleman of San Francisco, Mrs. Mamie Ogden of New York, Mrs. M. E. Flowers of Riverside, Mrs. Marguerite Woodward of Santa Monica, and Miss Carrie Winston, John and James Winston, all of Los Angeles. A sister, Mrs. Dolores Johnson, resides in this city."
