Funeral service were held at Gallant Funeral Home for Sam Gatlin who died in Methodist Hospital Winchester Tuesday May 15, 1990, with burial at Shiloh Cemetery. He was 81.

The Revs. Tom Porter and Jim Clardy officiated and burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.

Mr. Gatlin was a member of the Methodist Church, a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late John William and Lucy Ables Gatlin. He was a retired salesman for Electrolux Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam Bevels Gatlin of Fayetteville; one son, William Jerry Gatlin of Fayetteville; two brothers, John Gatlin of Petersburg and Andrew Gatlin of Round Rock, Texas; two sisters, Lela Mae Stevenson of Memphis and Hattie Miles of Huntsville, Ala.
