Mr. Gatlin was a member of the Methodist Church, a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late John William and Lucy Ables Gatlin. He was a retired salesman for Electrolux Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Bevels Gatlin of Fayetteville; one son, William Jerry Gatlin of Fayetteville; two brothers, John Gatlin of Petersburg and Andrew Gatlin of Round Rock, Texas; two sisters, Lela Mae Stevenson of Memphis and Hattie Miles of Huntsville, Ala.
