Valoura was my Grandmother's sister. She was as sweet as she was beautiful. She never had children of her own, but helped raise some of her stepchildren. One thing everyone remembers about Valoura was that when she went to baby showers, she'd bring a baby gift and a nice personal gift for the mother-to-be.

She married Ora Rounds. He had four children that she helped raise. He converted a trolley car into a house and that was where they lived. They later divorced.

In her later years, she lived with a man named Clyde "Red" French. She used his name, but they never married. She was close to his daughter, also.

From what I've heard, Valoura was a favorite aunt of many of her nieces and nephews. And, she was also dearly loved by great nieces and nephews. She claimed my Dad as her favorite nephew.
Great-Aunt Valoura died before I was born, I hope someday to name a daughter after her.
