Professional Hockey Player. A native of Lachine, Quebec, Canada, Mantha was born on November 29, 1907, and was the brother of Canadian Hockey Hall of Famer, Sylvio Mantha. Mantha played the position of both forward and defense for teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), and the American Hockey League (AHL), including the Montreal Canadiens from 1928 to 1941, New Haven Eagles from 1940 to 1941, and the Washington Lions from 1941 to 1943, as both player and head coach. He won the Stanley Cup in 1930 and 1931, and was a member of the NHL All-Star Roster in 1937 and 1939.
