He was born November 5, 1913 in Bellingham, Whatcom county, Washington, the son of Nils NYGREN amd Jennie Augusta JOHNSSON who were both born in Sweden. He married in Dillon, Beaverhead county, Montana August 17, 1941, Emma Mae CASPERE, the daughter of William Arthur JASPER and Lenah Ethel JONES.
Emma died April 16, 2006 in Bountiful, Utah at age 83 Both were buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon, Montana. Emma was a lifetime active member of the LDS Church serving in many capacities. She and Ernest served a LDS Mission in Boulder City, Nevada.
Survivors were a son and his wife and a daughter and her husband and extended family.
