Professional Baseball Player. Hopkins was believed to be the oldest living major league baseball player at the time of his death. Born and raised in Chester, Connecticut, as Paul Henry Hopkins, he made his major league debut on September 29, 1927, at Yankee Stadium in New York City, four days after his 23rd birthday. At 6'0", and 175lbs, he played for the Washington Senators from 1927 to 1929, and the St. Louis Browns in 1929. Before going professional he played baseball for Colgate University. He passed away at the age of 99 on January 2, 2004.
