He was born on January 7, 1935, and graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1952. He went on to serve 4 years in the United States Army. In 1956 he returned home, went to work for Stewart Dean Bearing as a delivery boy, and twenty years later he purchased the company from Stewart Dean. He continued working for 36 more years.
In 1956, he married John Ann Watkins. For over 54 years they spent many times traveling from state to state, always trying to visit a casino when they could. He loved his wife very much, and wanted her to be happy and safe forever. He will always be remembered for being a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather. His dedication to working and providing for his family, depth of his friendship, wisdom, integrity, sense of humor, generosity, and love for his family. He was, and always will be, a great inspiration to those who truly knew him.
Preceded in death by his father, Atness Corder, mother Tommie Corder, sisters Doris Price and Eleanor White.
Murf Corder is survived by his wife, John Ann Corder; two sons, Murph (daughter-in-law Pamela) Corder, David Corder; daughter, Alleta (son-in-law Erik) Bergmanis; grandchildren, Cole and Lisa Bergmanis, Jarryd (wife Carly) Lormand, Ashley Lormand; great grandchildren, Payton Lormand and Myles Vickers; sisters, Betty Upton, Billie Patterson, Pat Corder, Jackie (husband Eddie) Tirlica; and brother John Corder.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Seaside Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
