Charles R. Gonce, Sr., 66, of Mart, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at his residence. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Old Gordon Cemetery in Gordon, Texas, with the Rev. Johnny Paulson officiating.

Charles Ray was born in Floydada, Texas, to the late Worney Franklin Gonce, Sr. and Lena Matilda Paulson Gonce. Charles was a long time resident of Hamilton before moving to Mart in 2006. He was a retired master plumber, and he loved the Dallas cowboys.

Survivors include his daughters, Sheila Ann Morgan and husband, Ricky, of Gatesville, Charla Jean Dvorak and husband, Mark, of West, and Sharon Bomar, of Gatesville; son, Charles Ray Gonce, Jr. of Germany, and Stephen Louis Gonce and wife, Kim, of Valley Mills; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Joyce Neatherlin, and Elaine Boykin, both of Mart, Thelma Marie Arnold and husband, George, of Amarillo, Nancy Lucille Lowe and husband, Roman, of Apple Valley, CA., and Geraldine Benson, of Paradise; brother, Worney "Red" F. Gonce, Jr., of Hamilton; and many other family members and friends.
