Harlan Roger Krueger, age 83, of rural Valders died early Friday morning, December 9th, 2011 surrounded by his family, at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center where he had been a resident for the past 3 years.

Harlan was born on June 24, 1928 in the Town of Eaton, son of the late George and Helen (Reinhold) Krueger. He attended Niles school and graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1946. He was a lifetime Presbyterian, being baptized and confirmed at Niles Presbyterian Church and later joined the First Presbyterian Church in Kiel, where he sang in the choir, served as an usher, greeter and an elder. In this church, he married the former Doris Winkel on November 21, 1953. Harlan served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 attaining the rank of SP3. Harlan worked as a farmer, milk trucker and factory worker for White House Milk in Manitowoc. His last position, a field representative for Verifine Dairy and Dean Foods, was his idea of the perfect career. He retired in 1995. In his free time, Harlan was a charter member of the Collins Lions Club. He also enjoyed bowling and was always ready for a game of sheepshead and an avid Packer fan. Harlan loved the outdoors. He loved to garden and take care of his flowers. He had some of the most beautiful flower beds and was very proud of them. His love for animals was evident. He loved the cats and dogs. He also loved his llamas and their antics as he was President of D'Loryan Llamas, LLC.

Dad, you wore many hats but the most important one was the one called DAD. You were my cheerleader and teacher. You worked so hard to make sure Mom, and I had what we needed. You were there when I needed you. I will miss you, but the memories will live in my heart forever.
