Mary Dennison, 83 Weber City, VA passed away, Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Brian Center, Weber City, VA.

Mrs. Dennison was born in Scott County, VA on May 11, 1928, the daughter of the late Robert Clarence and Callie Smythe Oaks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Issac Dennison; son, Dwight Dennison; sister, Carrie Oaks; and brothers, Bob, Bud, Gene, Dick, Jimmy, Don, and Jack Oaks.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Salyer and husband, William, Weber City, VA; son, Michael Dennison, Weber City, VA; grandson, Scotty Salyer and wife, Misty, Church Hill, TN; great grandchildren, Scotty, Cheyenne, Shea, Journey, and Zachary Salyer; sister, Betty Ward and fiancé, Clarence White, Oklahoma City, OK; and brother, Wayne Oaks, Kingsport, TN; special niece, Deloris Williams, and other nieces, Lynn Hensley, Shannon Gritty, and Cynthia Ward; nephew, Eddie Oaks; and sisters-in-law, Hazel Oaks, Thelma Wolfe, and Barbara Larkey.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Spivey. Dennie L. Haynes will provide the music.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Brian Center, and to Dr. Wesley Eastridge and his staff for their love and care of Mrs. Dennison.
