Born in Fort Lawn, he was a son of the late Mr. Forney Richard Armstrong and the late Mamie L. Witherspoon Armstrong. He was the widower of Mrs. Agnes Elizabeth Burnett Armstrong.
Prior to his death Mr. Armstrong was a barber at the Candler Building in downtown Atlanta since 1932.
He is survived by six brothers, Jeff M. Armstrong of Jefferson, Ga., J. Simpson Armstrong and Daniel M. Armstrong of Rock Hill, Thomas K. Armstrong of Great Falls and William Elihu Armstrong and Frank R. Armstrong of Chester; two sisters, Mrs Mattie Belle Clark of Chester and Mrs. Mamie Elizabeth Morrison of Richburg.
