DELORES ANN HUNTER, 78 years, of Tekamah, Nebraska, long-time resident of rural Decatur, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska, of liver cancer with her family at her side.

Delores Ann Froid was born August 31, 1933, at home northeast of Lyons, Nebraska, to Lester and Helga (Svenden) Froid. She graduated from Lyons High School and Omaha Business College at age 16. In 1950 she went to worked for Union Pacific in Omaha, Nebraska until she married.

On June 29, 1952, Delores married Glenn E. Hunter in Lyons, Nebraska. Born to this union were two children: Renae and David.

Delores worked sorting seed corn for Tek-Seed for many seasons and at the Citizen State Bank in Decatur. She also worked at the ASCS office as the Price Support Program Technician for almost 20 years until her retirement. She later worked at Dansco Refrigerated Carrier in Decatur.

Delores was proud to serve on the election board for close to 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and decorating her home for all holidays and seasons--her favorite was Christmas. She was a very good pianist, loved traveling, going to craft shows with her sister, taking pictures of friends and sites, visiting with friends and dancing. Delores helped design the floor plans for the circular house she and Glenn had built southeast of Decatur.

She kept records of everything, but was especially interested in genealogy. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her four exchange granddaughters, Cecilia, Nara, Tici and Marcia from Fortaleza, Brazil.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Earl of Decatur; daughter and son-in-law, Renae and Jerry Magill of Gretna, NE; son and daughter-in-law, David and Denise (Twining) Hunter of Lyons; six grandchildren, Jessica (Magill) and Stephen Manna of Omaha, Monica (Magill) and Andrew Herd of Papillion, NE, Melissa (Hunter) and Craig Brokaw of Lyons, Alyssa (Magill) and John Krogstrand of Columbus, NE, Maggie (Hunter) and Tim Miller of Bancroft, NE, Brandon Hunter and fiancé, Lisa Maslowsky of Omaha; eleven (almost 12) great grandchildren, Christina, Mikayla and Josiah Manna, Nathan, Katelyn and Megan Herd, Arianne and Miriel Brokaw, Hailey, Colten, Kaylin and Baby Miller; sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Froid) and Lyle Tippery of Decatur; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and LaVonne Froid of South Sioux City, Nebraska; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great- nieces and -nephews and special neighbors, Joe and Phil Penny.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday, January 9, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.
MEMORIAL GATHERING: Sunday, January 8, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 - 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah.
BURIAL: Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur, Nebraska, at a later date.
